Fourth, go here: https://github.com/dylanraga/win11hdr-srgb-to-gamma2.2-icm and download the ICM that most closely matches the SDR brightness you set, and activate it whenever you're using Auto HDR (switch back to your calibrated profile when a game has its own HDR mode).

Also, you may appreciate this as it should allow for better color accuracy when using the hdr mode if it isn't solely down to what settings your display exposes when in sdr vs hdr. https://github.com/dylanraga/win11hdr-srgb-to-gamma2.2-icm sdr content looks much better ever since I set this up.

Is there a particular reason as to why SDR and HDR have different brightness levels?
You're also probably on Windows using Auto-HDR, which messes up the gamma-to-EOTF curve mapping. There's a patch for that.

Are Oleds supposed to halo like that. IPS didn't do it.

and you should make sure you followed the guide to calibrate HGIG correct and also follow this if you want true blacks in literally anything.
