It finds devices on the same network automatically but also works across networks when using the plus button on the top right.

Use something like https://www.sharedrop.io/ to wirelessly get it to your windows system. Then use Shutter encoder to reduce it's size.

The MacOS version isn't even a UB2, it's still compiled for intel. https://www.sharedrop.io/ looks interesting through thanks afavour!

I like the wormhole-william[0] Go implementation of "Magic Wormhole" protocol on the CLI. There's a couple of compatible Android apps[1][2] in the F-Droid store and Rydmport[3] for your GUI loving friends.

If you want go, there is a magic-wormhole implementation called wormhole-william [1].

Rymdport [2] is a decent cross-platform app using it.
