We have the ability to terminate processing for any method by returning out of the method early and setting the return object. While I haven't tested ws and rs it should theoretically work, however, the returned object will not map to a user friendly error, see our default return types. To fully support custom responses for ws and rs we need to add a json configuration file (framework) and load it into our db. Frameworks are fully data driven and should not require and code changes. Frameworks are detected by searching for annotations, interfaces, and inheritance. I will look at adding this support this week, checkout the spring configuration file example.
Can't you stop endpoint execution with other tools, like CF workers/ Imperva and so on, on the CDN layer?
